Lonesome Wyatt and the Holy Spooks – Halloween Is Here!
Spooky troubadoor Lonesome Wyatt and his Holy Spooks have released Halloween Is Here, an album of spooky songs and scary tales that, at first, might sound like it was meant for children, but upon closer inspection is somewhat darker than most modern children’s fare, falling somewhere between the kitzchy, catchy sound of Andrew Gold and the old shriek-filled Pickwick sound effects records from the 60’s and 70’s, but with a twangier sound… and I swear Lonesome Wyatt sounds like Alice Cooper when he’s narrating his creepy vignettes of vengeful spooks and spectres! The October issue of Rue Morgue Magazine has it as their Featured Album, and rightfully so – this is 2013’s *must have* Halloween album! Click the (amazing) album artwork below to go their webstore.
