Hallowoot! 2012
Woot.com‘s motto is “One Day, One Deal”, and every day they offer a single product at a very low price. Shirt.woot.com does a different t-shirt every day, usually created, submitted and voted on by other site users. For the most part, after a shirt’s been for sale for 24 hours, it’s gone, sometimes forever.
Luckily, they do things like Hallowoot, which has brought back a number of spooky-themed designs they’ve offered over the past year. Head over and check out some of these really cool, really fun and really unique designs… but hurry. The sale ends at midnight (CST) on October 1st!

Faces of the Great Pumpkin Art Contest : THE TWIST!
A very good point was raised in the comments on the Second Annual Faces of the Great Pumpkin Art Contest page regarding voting. In a nutshell, an artist with a lot of friends willing to sign up and vote on this website could easily sway the contest in his/her favor. That got us thinking and we decided that, in addition to the Popular Vote this year, we’d reach out to our friends in the Halloween community to find 3 Judges will to choose our First, Second and Third Place winners this year.
What we didn’t expect was to get, quite possibly, the MOST qualified 3 people on the web to be our judges! It is with great pleasure that the Cult of the Great Pumpkin announces our judges for the 2012 Faces of the Great Pumpkin Art Contest:
LESLEY BANNATYNE
As one of the country’s foremost authorities on Halloween, Bannatyne has shared her knowledge on television specials for Nickelodeon and the History Channel (“The Haunted History of Halloween,” “The Real Story of Halloween”), with Time Magazine, Slate, National Geographic, and has given talks at venues as diverse as the 2000 Halloween Convergence in New Orleans and the St. Louis Art Museum. She contributed the Halloween article to World Book Encyclopedia. She has written multiple books on the history, folklore and cultural impact of Halloween, and her knowledge of the holiday is matched only by her passion for it. http://iskullhalloween.com/
ERIC PIGORS
A.K.A. Unkle Pigors, the mad genius behind the Toxic Toons empire has drawn and painted more jack o’ lanterns than most people actually see in a lifetime. Eric started out as a professional animator with a diverse client list including Walt Disney Studios, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and others. He launched Toxic Toons in 1999 to merchandise and sell his own brand of gleefully macabre art and illustration work. Odds are you’ve seen his work more than once, whether you knew it or not! http://www.toxictoons.com
ROT
The mysterious mastermind behind PumpkinRot.com, Rot’s wicked Halloween creations are unparalleled and must be seen to be believed. If you haven’t already, set aside an afternoon to explore the wicked, weird and wonderful creations on display at http://pumpkinrot.com/

Faces of the Great Pumpkin Art Contest: Deadline Extended!
The Second Annual Faces of the Great Pumpkin Art Contest Entry Deadline has been extended to October 15th. Why? We figured that, by having it on October 1st, we were ending the entry period just as many artists might be getting into the Halloween Spirit. Now they have 2 weeks of Octoberness to inspire them. The contest itself will run from October 16th through the 30th, with winners announced on Halloween.
Please help spread the word! If you know a dark artist or Halloween artisan, send them to http://pumpkincult.com/contests/ . So sayeth the Word of the Gourd.
